The Buddy Programme

What is the buddy program?

Every year, Aarhus BSS welcomes hundreds of international students that are starting their full-degree, either bachelor or masters. To give them the best possible start to their new student life in Aarhus, Studenterlauget created the Buddy Programme to help new international students integrate socially into BSS. The programme has been up and running since 2006!

Each year, the Buddy Programme coordinators will hire new buddies (volunteers), who are current students at Aarhus BSS, to welcome the newcomers (new full-degree international students at Aarhus BSS) by creating a bunch of social events, making new friends and having fun. The programme will be introduced to the newcomers in their introduction days.

In short the Buddy Programme is…

  • A social programme for new international students at Aarhus BSS
  • Created to help you settle socially in and have an awesome first semester
  • Multiple events during your first semester at Aarhus BSS

What is a Buddy?

A buddy is a volunteer who is a current student from Aarhus BSS, socially interested and open-minded, knows the campus and the city of Aarhus, Denmark and Danish culture. A Buddy can be both an international and a Danish full degree student at Aarhus BSS.

Buddies gain many benefits from the programme, like the opportunity to improve their language skills, participate in social events, create an extensive social network, gain international experiences with students from all over the world and much more!
